1. Our Commitment
Gaming at Oqvared should be entertainment, never a way to make money or escape problems. Oqvared Resorts Ltd. operates under a gaming licence and follows the responsible gambling code of its regulator. We train all gaming staff to recognise signs of harmful play and to respond with care.
2. Keep Play Fun
- Set a budget before you play and treat it as the cost of entertainment.
- Set a time limit and take regular breaks. There are clocks and quiet spaces on the floor.
- Never chase losses, and never gamble with money needed for rent, bills or food.
- Do not gamble when tired, upset or after drinking.
- Balance gaming with other things you enjoy at the resort.
3. Signs Play May Be Becoming a Problem
- Spending more money or time than you planned.
- Chasing losses or gambling to win back money.
- Borrowing money or selling belongings to gamble.
- Hiding gambling from family and friends, or lying about it.
- Feeling anxious, irritable or guilty about gambling.
- Neglecting work, family or other responsibilities.
4. Tools We Provide
All of these can be arranged in person with any host, by phone or by email, and take effect immediately:
- Self-exclusion from the casino for 6 months, 1 year or permanently.
- Cooling-off periods of 24 hours up to 3 months.
- Personal limits on spend, credit and time on the floor.
- Loyalty and marketing opt-out so you receive no gaming promotions.
- Account statements showing your play on request.
5. What Our Team Does
Hosts and floor staff are trained to notice changes in behaviour and may approach you privately, offer a break or point you to support. We may limit or refuse service if we believe play is causing harm. Staff conversations are confidential, and we do not hold self-exclusion against you when you return to the hotel.
6. Protecting Under-18s
Nobody under 18 may enter the gaming floor or take part in gaming. Photographic ID is checked at entry, and staff may ask anyone who looks under 25 for proof of age. Adults must not allow minors to gamble on their behalf.
7. If You Are Worried About Someone Else
Gambling can affect partners, family and friends as much as the player. Talk to the person kindly, without blame, and encourage them to seek help. Family members can also contact us or an independent support service for confidential guidance. We cannot discuss another person's play without their consent, but we can explain our tools and how self-exclusion works.
8. Independent Help and Support
These organisations are independent of us and offer free, confidential help:
- United States: National Council on Problem Gambling, 1-800-522-4700 (24 hours)
- United Kingdom: GamCare, 0808 8020 133
- International: begambleaware.org
If you feel in crisis or at risk of harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number straight away.
9. Talk to Us
Ask any host for a private word, or email [email protected]. There is no judgment, and no need to explain.
